It’s looking l…

It’s looking like my journey to Farm Girl status is getting closer to becoming a reality. We made an offer on a house in North Carolina, and we should close on the deal by the end of next month. I’m so excited!! We may not be up there by Thanksgiving, but we WILL be up there before Christmas.

The house is move-in ready with a nice-sized kitchen that should be big enough for canning, soap-making, and any other cooking and baking we’d like to do. It sits on almost two wooded acres, which will be a lot of fun for the boys to go exploring and even camping whenever they’d like. I’ll be planning a small goat pasture in an area of the woods we’ll designate to be cleared because apparently the little caprines will do a fine job of eating away at everything within the fenced area. I don’t know how long it will take them, but they will convert it into a nice grazing pasture for themselves at some point.

I’ve ordered the POD to be delivered about a week before Thanksgiving, and I have a couple friends coming over for an early turkey dinner and packing party. It will be nice to just fill it up and have it hauled away without having to drive everything up myself. I’ll have my hands full with all the critters and the kids!

Wish us luck, and I’ll do a better job of updating my blog!

Congrats you guys on this awesome find! How many bedrooms/bath? You will love the weather up there on that wooded lot 🙂 I love the sound of the wind through the trees…

  2. You can in fact litter box train them- on the goat forum I added you to a lady had litter box trained hers! Maybe we can have a coop building weekend sometime down there? It doesn’t take much and I have the tools to do it!
